Apex Legends: Hunted is expected to go live later today at 1 p.m. EST. This update introduces a new Legend named Vantage and a much-awaited rework of the Kings Canyon map. Not only that but the patch also brings balancing changes to certain weapons in the game.
Assault rifles have been the go-to weapons in Apex Legends because of their versatility in mid- to long-range combat. That said, Respawn Entertainment has increased the base hip-fire spread of ARs in the Hunted Update. This particular adjustment may increase weapon variability since hip-firing assault rifles will no longer be as effective as before, especially when not aiming down sights.
Anyway, the Combat Advanced Round SMG or CAR is a very popular submachine gun in Apex Legends due to its ability to use various optics, including the 1x Digital Threat and 2x HCOG “Bruiser.” Well, those who love using the CAR SMG may not be happy with the fact that this weapon will no longer take barrel attachments once the Hunted Update goes live.
The Bocek Compound Bow is nerfed as well. While this weapon’s damage at full draw has increased to 70 and its Shattercaps pellet damage has increased to 12, the fired arrows can no longer be collected, meaning that players must make every shot count. Furthermore, arrow spawns have been removed from the floor.
The Hunted Update is not all bad though, as some weapons got buffed. Take the Rampage LMG, for example, with its damage increased to 28, and it now comes with a Thermite Grenade.
Here are the other balancing changes in the Hunted Update:
- New attachment to replace barrels for SMGs and Pistols.
- Reduced hipfire spread.
- Recoil improvements.
- Now takes stocks.
- Removed 1 pellet from blast pattern.

- Removed bright red flash when hitting non-armored targets.
- Sniper ammo inventory stack increased to 28 from 24.
- Sniper ammo boxes now contain 14 rounds instead of 12.
- Recoil adjustments to increase vertical barrel climb.
