The next Assassin’s Creed title has been officially confirmed. Ubisoft announced yesterday via Twitter that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next game in the series.
The tweet didn’t reveal a lot, and it only contained the title and artwork. The picture seems to hint that the game is set in Baghdad.
More information about AC Mirage will be revealed on September 10 at Ubisoft Forward. The event will take place at 3 p.m. EST and feature several Ubisoft games.
Previous Leaks and Rumors
The reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage didn’t come as a surprise. The existence of the game was leaked months ago when it was previously called AC Rift . A few days ago, tons of details found their way to the internet.
One leak claimed that the protagonist is a young Basim, and the game will take place in Baghdad. It also revealed that several RPG elements, like leveling system, dialogue choice, and gender choice are removed for a much simpler game.
Although not officially confirmed, the leak also mentioned that a remake of Assassin’s Creed 1 is in development. The remake will come as a part of Season Pass, along with the new Constantinople DLC.
Some claims were corroborated by Jason Schreier, a respected game journalist. However, he didn’t say anything about any remake.
The Forty Thieves Quest Leak – Possible Pre-Order Bonus
Another leak took place yesterday, which revealed a small DLC for the game. Artwork with the title, The Forty Thieves Quest, found its way on Twitter. The tweet was removed, but you can still check it out here. The quest DLC could be a pre-order bonus like The Way of the Berserker DLC was to Assassin’s Creed Village.
The target platforms for Assassin’s Creed Mirage haven’t been revealed, but I think it’s a safe bet that the game will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. We will know for sure at the event on September 10.
