The Windows 11 24H2 update caused many different games to suffer from a plethora of bugs, including Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed origins.

The particular patch for the PC software has made the stealthy action role-playing game nearly unplayable on the platform. The situation has caused many players to flood "Assassin's Creed Origins" with negative reviews on Steam.

Assassin's Creed Origins Gets Review Bombed

While the game is already nearly a decade old, it is still considered one of Ubisoft's best entries in its long-running "Assassin's Creed" franchise. Many players started to express their concerns after experiencing some issues with the game since November 2024.

The complaints have not been all about "Assassin's Creed Origins" as other games also fell victim to the problems following the 24H2 update on Windows 11. Many other titles by Ubisoft were also faced with similar issues.

Notably, there are two other entries in the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, "Odyssey" and "Valhalla," which also suffered from performance problems following the Windows 11 update.

On the other hand, "Star Wars Outlaws" was able to get some temporary fixes to address some of the issues, according to Game Rant.

The wave of negative Steam reviews for "Assassin's Creed Origins" is a testament to how the game is facing the biggest problems right now. Another point of note here is that the problems have persisted in the game three months after the launch of the update.

Ubisoft has yet to provide real solutions to what many players are suffering from, which has made the game nearly unplayable. A lot of people argue that the situation came at the wrong time because of the Steam Winter Sale 2024.

Windows 11's 24H2 Update

A lot of fans are now criticizing Ubisoft for not meeting the requirements of the Windows 11 24H2 update and still offering the game at a discount. Documentation from Microsoft noted that the bugs make many of Ubisoft's games useless, Windows Latest said.

Many people reported that "Assassin's Creed Origins" either crashed or became unresponsive during gameplay. Some people also said that there were instances when the app itself became unresponsive during the launch process.

Some have already tried to take the matter into their own hands by trying to make some temporary fixes to the issue. This was done by going to your PC's Settings menu, clicking the System tab, and scrolling down to the About option.

When clicked, this will bring up detailed specifications for your particular system, and you can consider a rollback if you see that you have the 24H2 update. However, this fix is only possible for systems that were updated in the last 10 days, according to Sportskeeda.
