Assassin’s Creed Origins will see substantial updates in January, according to a recent Ubisoft blog post. Thankfully, those with and without a season pass will have something new to explore.
Free Title Update
- A new quest will be available to celebrate the launch of The Hidden Ones season pass expansion.
- Heka chests will include items from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator and Wacky Items accessory packs.
- Players will be able to sell clothing they don’t use at in-game vendors.
Free Trials Of The Gods: Two deities return to the game with huge loot rewards.
- Anubis : Jan. 9-16
- Sobek : Jan. 23-30
Free Store Updates
- Almighty Pack: Jan. 16 - Focuses on bows and ranged weapons with cool designs.
- For Honor Pack: Jan. 30 - In the tradition of Ubisoft’s melee-focused For Honor title, this pack has iron axes, swords and shields players can purchase with premium currency. The items have a Viking-like style to them.
- Warden’s Oath Outfit: Jan. 30 - Its design references the Warden class in For Honor. This item is purchased with 40 Uplay Units. Uplay Units can be earned for free by playing Ubisoft games while connected to the service.
- Harlequin & Chop Chop Items: Jan. 2018 - Originally exclusive to a contest, these items will now be be available to everyone as a Ubisoft Club reward. No price is listed.
The Hidden Ones: Bayek clashes with the Romans, who take control of an all-new region on the map. This expansion releases at no additional cost to season pass owners.
- It features a new, vast story.
- The level cap is increased from 40 to 45.
While no release date for the content has been announced, past updates suggest the free perks will go live alongside the Almighty Pack on Jan. 16. The DLC and listed store updates will likely make their way to season pass owners Jan. 30. Should the description of the Hidden Ones expansion tickle your fancy, we imagine it will be sold as an individual purchase as well. As the launch dates draw near, Ubisoft will post complete patch notes on the official Origins forums.
This is far from the first crossover content we’ve seen featured in Assassin’s Creed Origins. In mid-December, players could try the Gift From The Gods sidequest to score a sweet Chocobo mount that calls back to Final Fantasy XV. While there are plenty of historical items in the shop, Ubisoft continues to offer lots of offbeat selections too.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The season pass retails for $39.
