Assassin's Creed Valhalla, released earlier this November, brought us a brand-new Assassin-Templar fantasy set during the Viking era. Unlike the previous installment in the series, Assassin's Creed Valhalla was warmly received by both fans and critics. Many even claimed that Valhalla was a step in the right direction.
Valhalla features a meaty 60 to 70 hour-long campaign. And if you consider completing all the side activities, the number of playable hours will rack up to 100+ hours. The more you invest your time playing the game, the more XP you'll continue to earn.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla XP Boost
XP in Valhalla works differently from the previous titles. If you've played Odyssey, you might be aware of grinding that one had to go through to level up. Valhalla has no such method. The game is pretty generous when it comes to leveling up. But the XP boost offered by Ubisoft is for new players who don't have the time to invest 100+ hours into the game.
Ubisoft explained the XP boost microtransaction, "as more and more post-launch content becomes available, we want to give the option to players to advance their progression." I don't know how to feel about this. But if Ubisoft really cared about the players lagging behind, they could have simply given them an option to jump ahead without spending extra money on top of the $60 game price.
Honestly, there isn't much to get in Assassin's Creed Valhalla that didn't require an extra payment. Most attractive gear is hidden behind a paywall in the Store section. So, even if you buy an XP boost and level up faster, you still need to spend money on items stashed up in the exclusive in-game store.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
