Turrets can now be unlocked on earlier BURG.L chips. Besides that, turret recipes have been changed to require lower-tier ingredients for earlier acquisition.
This patch also brings other notable changes. For instance, players now respawn at the home shelter if they die three times consecutively in a short period.
While this update brings plenty of bug fixes, there are still some issues that the developers need to address. The Forge Amulet quest item, for example, can be sold through the Scavenger Board and players may not be able to get it back.
Certain biomes have also received some quality-of-life improvements. In the Sun Tower, for example, the Windmills' hitboxes have been updated to make them easier to dodge or hit with a spin kick.
A new survivor named Haddie Kaur is introduced as well. She has a perk that allows her to repair generators faster than others after cleansing any totem.
When the Steel Path is enabled, enemies are harder to kill. But this also grants players a 100% increased chance for resources and mods to drop at the end of each mission.
The first world boss to be introduced in the game is the large sandworm. When killed, this boss drops materials that allow players to craft the new Sandworm Gear, which includes a new armor set, knife, spear, and arrows.
Another feature added in this update is the screen space global illumination. This feature makes in-game lighting look more realistic, but this comes at the cost of performance.
In this update, players have four new weapons to play with. One of the most notable is the Howitzer because this gun fires a long-range projectile that splits upon impact.
New gameplay accessibility options are also available that allow players to tweak a number of different things, like how many Reprises are possible in single-player mode.
Twenty new keystones are going to be added by the Sentinel Expansion. One of the most notable keystones increases the chance for favored maps to drop by 200%.
