The Banner Saga 2 is just a few weeks away from making its PC debut, Stoic announced this week, but those looking forward to playing the upcoming sequel on PS4 or Xbox One will have to wait a bit longer to find out what happens in The Banner Saga 2.
According to Stoic, PC gamers can look forward to playing The Banner Saga 2 on April 19, one week after Dark Souls 3 is set to begin testing our patience. The game picks up moments after the conclusion of its predecessor, which debuted back in 2014, and will continue the story players put in motion during The Banner Saga. We’ll see several returning faces, along with plenty of new ones, along with an expanded combat system and a new race, the Horseborn.
One thing that won’t change is the series’ gorgeous art style, which draws inspiration from old, hand-drawn/painted Disney films and the artwork of Eyvind Earle. That said, Stoic has promised the community it will see improved visual effects in the upcoming sequel. Unfortunately, there's still no word on when we can expect the game to hit PS4 or Xbox One. It took Stoic more than a year to prepare console ports of The Banner Saga; however, we'd like to think the process won't take quite as long the second time around.

The Banner Saga 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will make its Steam debut on April 19; however, there’s no word yet on the console ports.
