It’s been years since we saw the Caped Crusader star in his own title, and if Rocksteady’s continued silence on the matter keeps up, then it’s possible that we may have finally seen the last of him in that PlayStation VR title. However, that doesn’t count for rereleases, which are often welcome additions to anyone’s collections.
Fans of the game who want to own it once more may now get a chance to do so, as an Amazon UK listing for the three Batman: Arkham titles – Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight – will get a rerelease on September 6 under the title Batman: Arkham Collection. It’s a good starting point for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners to get into the games if they haven’t already, which is probably one of the most decent superhero trilogies we’ll ever see in video games.
As for what the Batman: Arkham Collection will include, the official description states that all the Arkham games with all of their post-launch content will be included. As much as I loved playing them all, it did get tiring to see so much DLC content, so collecting them in one pack makes a lot of sense. It also seems that both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, the first two games in the series, will be getting remastered and updated visuals. It makes sense if you think of both as the Game of the Year editions, which featured the game complete with all post-launch content and other DLCs.
The Batman: Arkham Collection will also include an exclusive Steelbook packaging, the Game of the Year edition for Batman: Arkham Knight and an exclusive skin for the same game on the PlayStation 4, ‘Earth to Dark Knight.’
As impressive as this release may be, it does lack Batman: Arkham Origins, which many people seem to forget just because it wasn’t developed by Rocksteady. To be honest, I actually enjoyed that title a lot more than I did Arkham Knight, mostly due to how fun its boss fights were, especially the one with Deathstroke. Oh well.
Batman: Arkham Collection will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6.
