Battlefield 2042 Season 3: Escalation is now live on all platforms. The Season 3 Update brings plenty of new content, including a new specialist, a new tank, and the new Spearhead map.
New Map
The new Spearhead map takes Battlefield 2042 players to the rocky formations of the Swedish Wilderness. Situated here are some points of interest that players must know about.
They’ll start in the joint Forward Operating Base next to the lake, where two objectives must be captured for players to advance to the next POI.
In the Communications Outpost, players must be wary of the four communication towers found in this medium-sized area. Snipers might take them out if they’re not careful.
Once they’ve pushed through the outpost, players will find themselves in the Weapons Printing Facility - one of the Cube structures on this map. This place is not suitable for snipers, so expect close-quarter confrontations when completing objectives.
Everything culminates in the Painting Facility. Just like in the previous Cube building, players must fight enemies in close-quarters combat.
New Specialist
Rasheed Zain is the newest specialist introduced in Battlefield 2042. The Egyptian-born security expert can flush out enemies using his trusty XM370A Airburst Launcher. This is perfect for situations where enemies hide behind cover and are preventing Rasheed and his team from advancing further.
Rasheed’s trait is Perseverance, which makes him last longer on the field as he’s able to recover HP immediately when eliminating an enemy. It’s important to note, however, that this effect stops whenever he takes further damage.
New Vehicle
Players have a new ground vehicle to play with in Season 3. The new EMKV90-TOR is a unique Rail Gun Destroyer Tank because of its two alternate modes that players can use depending on the situation.
The first is Siege Mode, ideal for players who want to focus on using the Rail Gun Turret to defeat the enemy. This puts the tank in a more grounded state, providing some much-needed stability and increasing the fire rate of its main weapon.
The EMKV90-TOR is also capable of entering Mobility Mode, perfect whenever players need to transport passengers safely from one point to another. Despite its increased mobility while in this mode, this tank still provides enough firepower to decimate any obstacle that blocks its way.
