The fifth season of Battlefield 2042, dubbed New Dawn, will go live on all platforms tomorrow. However, EA has already revealed intel about the content that players can expect in the upcoming patch.
New Map: Reclaimed
The main highlight of Update 5 is the new map called Reclaimed. Here, players will engage in an abandoned industrial facility that's slowly being reclaimed by the Czechian region.
Reclaimed has some notable points of interest. The Abandoned Turbine's verticality and cover provide the perfect avenue for close-to-mid-range combat. Those who prefer taking enemies out from a distance might like the Military Warehouse because its narrow layout gives excellent space for snipers.
Of course, those who want to eliminate the competition with heavy firepower can ride tanks in The Silos as well. Don't worry, this outdoor area also contains some elevated ground, allowing foot soldiers to get a good shot at vehicles dominating the ground.
New Weapons
Update 5 will introduce a few new weapons as well. The GEW-46 is an upcoming assault rifle known for its stability. But what makes this assault rifle appealing is its burst-fire mode, which may prove to be useful in the new Reclaimed map.
Players who have a penchant for sniping at their targets from afar might love the new XCE Bar. This high-precision bolt action rifle does considerable amounts of damage at various distances. On top of that, it has a good selection of attachments that players can use to expand its capabilities.
Small but powerful, that is the appropriate description for the last weapon of the bunch, the BFP .50. This powerful hand cannon is great for killing targets at close range. Do not be fooled by its small stature because this thing can produce a sound so terrifying that enemies will run away once shots are fired.
