Update 3.1 for Battlefield 2042 offers a lot of things. Aside from the new vault weapons and the Manifest map rework, this patch also features improvements to hit registration and movement animations.
Hit registration, especially in first-person shooters like Battlefield 2042, is an algorithm that defines how the game’s servers process gunfire from the players’ clients. Assuming that latency is good, when a bullet is fired in a specific direction, it should hit whatever target is present in that location.
In Update 3.1, hit registration has been improved against targets on top of moving platforms or inside vehicles. This implies that bullets have a fair chance of hitting the target even when players are shooting at a vehicle that is moving at top speed. With so many people complaining about hit registration since the game’s release, this is a welcome change.
Additionally, this patch further improves animation responsiveness. Players might notice that aiming down sights and weapon deployment animations feel a lot smoother now than before.
