Korean fighting MMO Blade & Soul has just released its first content update, titled Rising Waters, which is aimed at mid and high-level players as well as PvP. The latest announcement was made just as Blade & Soul hit a major milestone only three weeks into its launch: 2 million players in US and Europe.

The new content includes Bloodshade/Nightshade Harbor and Mushin’s Tower - Floors 1-7 as well as five new Hongmoon Levels. The new Hongmoon Levels enable players to gain experience past level 45, which gives them additional skill points to assign in order to increase their character’s combat strength.

Bloodshade Harbor is a 4 or 6 player dungeon, and its 24-player version is Nightshade Harbor. These new end-game dungeons allow players to go against the evil Blackram pirates and Poharan’s boss, Admiral Hae Mujin. As for Mushin’s Tower, a single player Heroic dungeon, the area must be worked through floor-by-floor with unique and increasing challenges on each level.

The Rising Waters content update also marks the start of Blade & Soul ’s PvP preseason. What does that mean? A new in-game UI will help players evaluate their skills and earn Zen Beans (PvP currency in Blade & Soul) from their battles against other players.

Stay tuned on PvP: Once Blade & Soul moves from preseason to Season 1, more information will be on its way.

The in-game store has also been updated with a slew of limited Valentine’s Day options, with a Valentine’s Day event live through the 24th.

In a press release , the publisher described Blade & Soul as “the story of players' quest for vengeance and redemption against a backdrop of Asian fantasy, set in a beautifully crafted online world. Blade & Soul prominently features martial arts inspired combat and Windwalking movement, as depicted in classic Asian martial arts adventure films.”

Blade & Soul is completely free-to-play and can be downloaded here .
