Blizzard is getting sneakier with its announcements. Blizzheart received a letter this morning from Blizzard, saying: “There are whispers around the Tavern… Come listen closely and discover the next Hearthstone expansion at a special live-streamed event!”
The new expansion will be announced on a live stream on March 11 at 1 p.m. EST. The picture on the front of the note is from the format change announcement, showing the year of the kraken constellation. I expect Blizzard to also announce the format change launch date, along with a few other surprises.
Hearthstone has been stuck in a boring loop since League of Explorers, which we’ve already gone through in detail . Players are already saving up their dust, ready to enchant whatever great cards emerge from the next set. You don’t want to be the only player on the ladder without the best and newest legendaries.
I plan on disenchanting all my Mysterious Challengers, finally putting to rest an old friend. Like Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi, my knights will burn. I will never forget Secret Paladin, no matter how hard I try. I’m not sure if I will have the heart to destroy Dr. Boom, he was the first useful legendary I ever got from a pack.
