Publisher 2K Games and developer Gearbox Software have just announced the arrival of the fourth DLC campaign for their looter-shooter Borderlands 3. Dubbed Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, the DLC will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 10.
What will the Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC bring, then? Plot-wise, the campaign add-on will strive to find out what makes the minds of the bloodthirsty psychos tick. According to the overview, scientist Patricia Tannis proposes that these psychos have been driven insane because of their knowledge (or blind belief) in a mythical place only known as the “Vaulthalla”. The key to finding the elusive place is located within the mind of the infamous Krieg, known as the most badass psycho of all. Obviously, this is where Tannis requires you to dive into Krieg’s chaotic mind in search of clues for the cryptic place. Only by surviving the meat castle that is Krieg’s psyche will you then be able to reap the rewards of “Vaulthalla”.
Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck will bring players through the many demented corners of Krieg’s mind and will provide more information as to how a psycho sees the world. Nothing regarding the rewards players can expect have been specified as of this writing, but according to 2K’s overview, Legendary weapons and gear will be up for grabs inside Krieg’s consciousness, as well as Vault Hunter Heads and Skins.
To conclude their press release, 2K also announced that on September 10, the level cap for Borderlands 3 will also increase from 60 to 65 for all players for free. They have also noted that this will be the last level cap increase for the foreseeable future.
Borderlands 3 is available to play on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck will be available on September 10 via the game’s Season 3 Pass and for the Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 3.
