Season 1 Reloaded is going live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 this January 17. There's a lot of new content to be introduced in this mid-season update and the highlight in the new 6v6 Multiplayer map. In addition to the new map, we'll also take a look into the new modes to be added.
The new map is called as Rio and deploys players to an upscale shopping center that's located in Rio de Janeiro. This new medium-sized map features a central indoor mall and surrounded by Main Street, a tram station, a market, a plaza and café, and even residential spaces. In this new map, the mall itself rises toward the middle, so it's advisable to keep an eye out for enemies playing king of the hill on approach. There's also a covered walkway where players can get above their enemies. Those who want to take cover while fighting on street level can make use of a nearby armored vehicle.
A Bigger Gunfight
As mentioned, new modes are going to be added to the game. There are three and the first one is Team Gunfight where players get to experience Gunfight on a larger scale. For this version, players take part in 6v6 across standard Multiplayer maps. Like with your typical Gunfight, all players receive the same randomized Loadout at the start of each round. This Loadout though changes as the match progresses. This means that to wipe out the competition, players need to adapt to what's given to them.
Securing the HQ
The second mode is Headquarters where players need to secure the Headquarters objective and then try hold this position as long as they possibly can to obtain points. Strategy comes into play considering that respawns are disabled for the defending team. With the objective rotating around the map throughout the match, players need to be ready to change their position on the fly.
Fight the Infected
Finally, there's Infected. In this one, the match starts with one player being randomly assigned as the starting infected. The goal of this infected player is to eliminate and transform all the other players into infected Operators. The remaining survivors on the other hand have to use their best skills and strategies to keep the infected at bay.
This new update also introduces Multiplayer Ranked Mode and a challenge involving The Boys.
Released in 2011, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for the PC.
