The previous rumors were accurate. A crossover between Call of Duty and Amazon's successful web series The Boys is real and now live. Three iconic characters, namely, Starlight, Homelander, and Black Noir, have made their way to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.
Operator Bundles
These beloved characters will be introduced as limited-time operator bundles. Each bundle will not only include the character but also feature three unique weapon blueprints, weapon charms, loading screens, emblems, and other exciting items. Players can acquire these thrilling bundles by spending 2,400 COD Points.
For clarification's sake, 2,400 COD Points will only get you access to one bundle. So, if you want all three, you will need 7,200 COD Points. The first bundle features Starlight and it's scheduled for launch today, July 12, followed by Homelander on July 16 and Black Noir on July 20.
Temp V Field Upgrade
The crossover isn't only about the operators and their new weapons. The collab also brings The Temp V Field Upgrade that will enhance your gameplay and force your enemies to rage quit.
Temp V Field Upgrade, when consumed, grants one of four random superpowers to your Field Upgrade slot. Unlike regular Field Upgrades, Temp V lets you activate the power when you choose. But if you're eliminated before using it, the power is lost just like a regular Field Upgrade.
Keep in mind that traditional Field Upgrades nullify Temp V's effects. Test subjects who acquire items, like Munitions Box or Dead Silence, lose the Temp V power.
Here are the four superpowers Temp V can provide:
- Charge Jump: Propel across the map without fall damage, dealing splash damage upon landing.
- Electric Shockwave: Release a powerful electrical explosion, damaging both Operators and equipment.
- Laser Vision: Levitate and fire a laser beam, but be cautious of potential backlash.
- Teleport: Warp upward, perfect for evading fights or gaining higher ground. No changes to your Operator Skin.
All Warzone playlists will feature Temp V Field Upgrade including DMZ; however, it won't be available in Ranked Play.
Previous Crossovers and Collabs
This isn't the first time that Call of Duty has collaborated with Hollywood, as just a few months ago, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shredder operator bundle was made available. Previous crossovers include Rambo, Snoop Dogg, Godzilla and King Kong, and Die Hard's John McClane. We are sure that The Boys crossover isn't the last one, and more collaborations are probably planned for the future.
