Call Of Duty: WWII has suffered from a somewhat rocky launch, but the upcoming days and weeks are going to be very exciting. There’s a new update in the works and a free winter-themed map. Here are all the hot scoops from Sledgehammer’s latest blog post.

First off, Sledgehammer will release an update next week with fixes for map exploits, UI adjustments, connectivity tweaks and more. Weapon balance will also be an area of focus. Specifically, the BAR will be nerfed with greater recoil. Flinch reduction across all weapons will be given a second pass, and glitches with certain Basic Training perks will be fixed. No release date for the update was provided, but the developer promises it’s coming soon.

Also in the pipeline is WWII’s first seasonal event, Winter Siege. Starting Dec. 8, players will gain access to a chillier version of the Carentan map previously offered as pre-order DLC. From the start of the event until early January, weekly rewards, a festive Headquarters and new ways to play will keep the community engaged.

To supplement your Thanksgiving feast, however, you can take part in a 2XP event that starts today and runs through Nov. 27. Sledgehammer wants fans to know they’re thankful for the intense support since launch. What better way to offer gratitude than to make the quest towards Prestige just a little bit easier?

Call Of Duty: WWII’s Headquarters social hub will continue its progressive rollout in several regions until the feature is ready worldwide. Keep redeeming orders and playing through rounds. You just might see your friend opening Supply Drops next to you very soon. It’s been a true test of patience to see this feature in action in the way Sledgehammer envisions it, and we’re personally looking forward to hopping in.

With this roadmap firmly established for the early winter months, the makers of Call Of Duty: WWII intend to make the most of the game’s unstoppable momentum that has carried for several weeks. With a revenue-busting opening weekend and several weeks atop U.K. sales charts, it’s become clear that WWII is the favored shooter for the rest of this year and into the next. Similar to Battlefield 1 before it, gamers are aligned with the historical vision Sledgehammer has given them.

Call Of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
