The Callisto Protocol was first announced during The Game Awards 2020. The said game just received a new trailer that included some gameplay footage of the horror-survival and the much-awaited release date. It is launching on December 2, 2022, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
About the Game
The Callisto Protocol takes place on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320. The protagonist Jacob Lee, voiced by Josh Duhamel, is in a prison colony known as Black Iron. The player will be fighting off an alien invasion that seems to be started by the warden.
The Callisto Protocol is being developed by Striking Distance Studios to be published by Krafton, the same publisher of PUBG. Initially, The Callisto Protocol was set in the same universe as PUBG. However, that has since been changed, and now both games aren’t linked in any way.
Dead Space-like
If The Callisto Protocol is giving you a Dead Space vibe, you aren’t alone. Heck, even the health bar of the protagonist is similar. The DS health bar was seen on the spine of the suit, while in The Callisto Protocol, the health bar is on the back of the head. The similarities aren’t coincidental because the director of The Callisto Protocol is Glen Schofield, the creator of the Dead Space franchise. Looks like Schofield finally got his wish to make Dead Space 4, just with another name, that is.
Great Time for Dead Space Fans
This is a great time to be a Dead Space fan. You are getting another horror survival game, The Callisto Protocol, from the same creator of DS . On top of that, a remake of Dead Space 1 is also in development and will launch on January 27, 2023. If you like Resident Evil games, you can also play Resident Evil 4 Remake on March 24, 2023. Next year is going to be amazing for fans of the horror genre.
