Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2020, and gamers have high expectations from this open-world sci-fi RPG from the makers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, despite all the love that Cyberpunk 2077 has received even before its launch, the game has broken hearts not once, not twice, but three times. Cyberpunk 2077 was first scheduled to be released in April, but was delayed until September. In June, CD Projekt Red again delayed the game until November, and recently, the game's release was pushed back until December, citing technical reasons.
As a result of the recent delay, Cyberpunk 2077 is now scheduled to release on December 10. However, given how many times the game has been delayed in the past, rumors started circulating on the internet that the game will be delayed once more. However, in a statement shared with IGN, CD Projekt Red said, “as a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation. But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”
In October, CD Projekt Red also confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 had gone gold, meaning that the game is playable and can be finished. This announcement led fans to believe that Cyberpunk 2077's November 19 release date was final. But, anticipating fans, including me, were super disappointed to learn that the game was delayed once again.
According to CD Projekt Red, Cyberpunk 2077 is working fine on the next-gen consoles and PC, but it's the PS4 and Xbox One consoles that are holding the game back from release. Moreover, with Cyberpunk 2077 releasing in December, it fails to qualify for The Game Awards 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on December 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, and Stadia.
