The biggest title of this year has been pushed back yet again, but just by a bit this time. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed AGAIN. The game was supposed to launch on November 19, and now it will release on December 10. 21 days isn’t a long time, but the waiting over the last few weeks was always the worst. This is the third delay for the game this year. Originally Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to launch back in April, then the game was delayed to September, and then to November. So, now you can understand if some fans are starting to get a little pissed.
Developer CD Projekt Red announced the unfortunate news via its official Twitter account. The reason for the delay is because CD Projekt Red is testing the game on nine different platforms, and that can get a little tedious. The game will launch on Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro, Stadia, and PC. The next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will also release sometime next year. The game was initially supposed to only be a next-gen title, however, that decision was later dropped. That’s why the devs want some extra time to make sure it runs smoothly as possible on multiple platforms.
CD Projekt Red told fans that was the reason why the decision was taken, even though the title has gone ‘gold’.
“Some of you might also be wondering what these words mean in light of us saying we achieved gold master some time ago. Passing certification, or ‘going gold’, means the game is ready, can be completed, and has all the content in it. But it doesn’t mean we stop working on it and raising the quality bar,” the official tweet said. “On the contrary, this is the time where many improvements are being made which will then be distributed via Day 0 patch.”
So what do you think? Are you still excited about Cyberpunk 2077 even after all the delays? Will you play the game on a console or PC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
