Charles Leclerc of Scuderia Ferrari has been chosen to be an EA SPORTS ambassador along with being the cover star of F1 22. He’ll take center stage on the cover where he is joined by Lando Norris of McLaren and George Russell of Mercedes.
For those not familiar with the sport, Charles Leclerc is the current leader of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship.
In a statement, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters Lee Mather revealed that they are excited to have a deeper relationship with Charles Leclerc. He added that they’ll be working with Charles to bring players closer to the action. Mather went on to say that they are also happy to celebrate former World Champions as they continue to serve as inspiration to the next generation of drivers.
A New Era
F1 22 ushers in a new era of Formula 1 with revolutionary cars designed to promote more competition. This version also has the overhauled rules which reimagine the race weekend with three F1 Sprint races. Core players can look forward to fast-paced and genuine simulation racing. Meanwhile, casual fans of the sport can still enjoy the game with the Adaptive AI more than ready to help them.
Life Hub
One interesting feature is the new F1 Life hub, which allows players to show off their collection of supercars and customization items. Making a return is the 10-year Career that comes with the two-player option. Included as well are My Team and Multiplayer.
F1 22 is coming out on July 1 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. There is also a PC version which can be obtained through the EA App, Origin, Steam, and the Epic Store.
Pre-order is now available for the base game. Players can also pre-order the digital-only Champions Edition, which celebrates four previous champions Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Max Verstappen. The Champions Edition comes with additional content like the time-limited Miami-influenced pack and three days of early access.
