It was back in 2012 when Clash of Clans was first launched to players worldwide. At that time, mobile games were still considered in the infancy stage. Since its release, this strategy game has been downloaded more than 3 billion times and even expanded into a universe that introduced others like Clash Royale, Clash Quest, Clash Mini, and Clash Heroes. To celebrate this milestone, Supercell is introducing various in-game events and accompanying rewards.
One of the in-game events is the 10-day Clash Boss campaign, which starts today. There’s a new challenge each day, offering special prizes. These challenges are based on some of the best content from each year of the game. Each of the challenges is set to feature the unit and winning strategies that define each year, which is sure to bring many players down memory lane.
Players can also expect a journey with a time-traveling Barbarian, which takes them back to the 1980s and 1990s. There’s a lot to enjoy like the mini-games that can be accessed through the Clash of Clans app. There’s also a new documentary and even collaborations with Topps and General Mills.
As part of the celebration, players have the chance to own the General Mills’ limited edition 90s-era “Barb’s Choco Boom Booms,” available now on Walmart. There are also the Topps’ 80s-era, Clash of Clans-themed Garbage Pail Kids cards now on sale today on Topps.
In a statement, community manager Darian Vorlick shared that they never would have thought that the Clash community would have the passion that it now has. The goal has always been to create games that players love and remember forever, Vorlick added, and as such they thank everyone who made all of this possible.
In Clash of Clans, players take on the role of a chief village who builds their territory from the ground up using resources gained from attacking other villages. Players can go solo or join a clan of up to 50 people and participate in Clan Wars. Clash of Clans is available on Android through Google Play and iOS through the App Store.
