Clash Of Clans just wrapped up its first Clan Games, but the second round will be bigger and better than ever before. According to a new forum post from Supercell Community Manager Darian Vorlick, the games beginning Dec. 22 will offer greater challenge and greater reward.
This time Clan Games will be separated into two categories: Lesser Games and Greater Games. It’s assumed the former will be similar to the most recent event, while the latter will have expanded rules. Here’s what we know:
- The Greater Games will last four days instead of two days.
- Personal accrued points per tier will be 2,000 instead of 500.
- There are six reward tiers instead of four.
- When the challenge reward involves loot, payouts will be bigger.
- The number of visible challenges will be reduced from 11-12 down to 6-8.
Here are the point values required to earn the reward at each tier.
- Tier I – Unlocks at 1,000 points
- Tier II – Unlocks at 2,500 points
- Tier III – Unlocks at 5,000 points
- Tier IV – Unlocks at 10,000 points
- Tier V – Unlocks at 18,000 points
- Tier VI – Unlocks at 30,000 points
Despite not knowing exactly what the challenges of the second inaugural Clan Games will be, the one piece of data we can take away is that at least 15 active clan members will be required to complete the top-tier task with each clan member contributing a ton to the final total. If you’re part of a clan that isn’t quite as passionate about nabbing every little reward, the Lesser Games or the lower tiers of the Greater Games will be waiting for you. This change for Friday’s Clan Games attempts to keep Clash Of Clans’ hardcore audience more engaged with the new feature.
For those who missed the boat on how Clan Games work, they’re similar to the Clan Chest in Clash Royale. Teams work together to complete rewards based on destroying certain buildings or using specific troops. Doing so earns points that contribute to unlocks at each reward tier. Possible rewards include resources or Magic Items that shorten time-based mechanics like training or building. The Games are only planned to occur sporadically, but because the feature is so new, Supercell is doing several test runs to balance it out.
Clash Of Clans ’ next Clan Games are set to begin Dec. 22. An exact time has not been announced.
