Ion Lands, the developer of Cloudpunk, has finally updated Cloudpunk's camera modes by bringing in new first-person and third-person perspectives. The developers added new features to make Cloudpunk more immersive. The neon-filled city looks visually stunning in first-person and might attract players who haven’t tried Cloudpunk yet.
This is a major update for Cloudpunk and was selected by the developers to please the community. Previous updates consisted of many visual and LOD changes which affected the game graphically, and this time Ion Lands focused on the technical side of things.
Cloudpunk has also added other major improvements, such as:
- Vehicle cameras
- Mouse steering
- Key bindings
Vehicle cameras
Vehicle cameras have been upgraded as well. You can look freely while driving around, but with one tradeoff: players can’t ascend or descend while driving. Ion Lands is still working on adding the cockpit in the first-person mode.
Mouse steering
Another recommendation from the players, mouse steering, was also added into the game for mouse and keyboard users. This change allows these gamers to steer using the mouse, which makes driving much easier to handle. The developers recommend using a lower sensitivity to steer effectively.
Key bindings
Players can now completely customize their key bindings to their liking. These new features allow you to use the most comfortable settings across all platforms. The developers have also added a tutorial for the camera and map. These options allow players to quickly swap between a controller and keyboard according to your comfort.
Cleaning robots
As a little extra, Ion Lands has also added in new cleaning robots to the streets of Nivalis. These cleaning robots don’t impact gameplay at all, but they move from puddle to puddle cleaning up water, despite the endless rain pouring down from the skies.
Cloudpunk is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
So, what are your thoughts on Cloudpunk’s new update? Do you like the new additions of camera perspectives and mouse steering? Personally, I would love it if Ion Lands fully integrated VR support. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
