The 2016 music festival season is barely underway but Coachella 2017 presale, dates and ticket information have been released. Like past years a three-day pass to Coachella (no single-day passes are available) will set you back a lot of $$$, but if money isn’t a problem here’s what you need to know for the 2017 edition of Coachella.
Coachella 2017 Presale & Ticket Information
It’s almost time for you to remember you are too poor to be going to festivals but spend your rent check on them anyway as the Coachella 2017 presale begins this week. Yes, less than two months after 2016’s mediocre lineup, Coachella is asking you to open your wallet Wednesday.
Starting at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday, Coachella 2017 tickets are $399 for a general admission pass. GA passes plus shuttle is $459, VIP Coachella 2017 is $899 with car camping at $99 per spot and tent camping $99 as well. The $399 price tag for a three-day pass to Coachella is an increase from the 2016 price of $375.
If dropping $400 June 8 for Coachella isn’t financially feasible, there is a payment plan for Coachella 2017. According to Coachella, there are seven equal payments of $57 a piece starting Wednesday and continuing on the 8th of each month through the end of the year.
Each person is limited to purchasing two tickets a piece but you can purchase a pass for both weekend 1 and 2. To purhcase tickets to Coachella 2017, click here.
Coachella 2017 Dates
The 2017 iteration of Coachella will once again take place over the course of two weekends in April in Indio, Calif. Coachella 2017 weekend 1 will run from April 14-16 while Coachella 2017 weekend 2 is from April 21-23.
While we now know the Coachella 2017 presale, ticket information and dates, what we don’t know is the lineup. We’ve put together a brief list of people we think/hope will headline Coachella. The official lineup for Coachella 2017 will likely get released in January or February next year, which is when previous lineups have been officially announced.
Coachella 2017 Lineup: 4 Predictions, Wishes
Making Coachella lineup predictions can sometimes feel like playing a game of darts with a blindfold. There’s usually two well-known indie/alternative rock bands with one hip-hop, EDM or classic rock star for the old timers. With many of those rock giants playing this October at the Coachella-run Desert Trip , don’t expect Coachella 2017 to feature any of those acts. So, with our blindfold on, here’s our best guesses for Coachella headliners for 2017.
Kendrick Lamar: The Compton born and bred, critically acclaimed hip-hop artist has never headlined Coachella, and a spot on the Coachella 2017 main stage should serve as the “I’m here to stay” moment for Kendrick. He did appear at this year’s Coachella as a special guest during Ice Cube’s set. With two albums released in the past two years, and a limited tour run with these albums, it’s safe to assume Kendrick will hit the road in a big way next year.
Radiohead: The biggest “get” for any music festival, in any year, is Radiohead. 2017 will be no different as the often-mysterious band just released its ninth studio album. While A Moon Shaped Pool is already out, with a few concerts/festival planned for 2016, Radiohead haven’t played Coachella since 2012 and a headlining spot in 2017 seems very likely. Radiohead played Coachella a year after The King of Limbs came out, expect them do the same again in 2017. Here is Radiohead playing "Identikit" in 2012, which is a song that appeared on this year's A Moon Shaped Pool.
Arcade Fire: Last playing in Indio, Calif. in only 2014, the indie rock superstars would be kind of a surprise lineup addition for Coachella 2017 but the band is playing Coachella’s first East Coast festival, called Panorama, this summer. Since its debut album in 2004, Arcade Fire has put out an album every three years, which means we’re due for a new album this year. Don’t be surprised to see them dancing on the stage at Coachella 2017.
Gorillaz: For the last year reports surfaced saying Damon Albarn was back in the studio working on a new Gorillaz album. Gorillaz producer Jamie Hewlett has even begun sharing images of the band in the studio. Tentatively set to release in the next year, Coachella would be the perfect place to debut new Gorillaz jams. Let’s not forget that epic 2010 performance by Gorillaz, fresh off the release of Plastic Beach. RIP Bobby Womack.
