Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games are offering a roguelite-flavored dungeon crawler with a twist. We say that because in Cuisineer, the real focus is food. While there's no definite release date, it's expected to be released this summer. There is a bit of good news and that is a demo for the Steam Next Fest, from June 19 to June 26.
The game follows the story of Pom, who returns to her hometown of Paell. Upon arriving, she learns that not only has her parents closed down their restaurant business, but it is also in deep debt. She now has to re-open the restaurant and make sure that it succeeds this time. To come up with dishes to turn the place into a sensation, she'll need to collect ingredients from the land by adventuring in the world outside of Paell.
It's not going to be easy as this adventurer turned restaurateur must explore and fight her away on diverse biomes to get her hands on those ingredients for cooking delicious meals. She'll have to go through four different biomes, from the icy caves to marshy swamplands, to obtain the finest ingredients. Each adventure offers unique challenges along with corresponding rewards. Meanwhile, procedural generation allows new layouts, enemy camps, and ingredients native to respective biomes.
