The long wait by Cuphead fans finally came to an end a few days ago. The Delicious Last Course, the highly anticipated expansion pack for Cuphead, was ultimately released on all platforms on June 30, 2022.
Ms. Chalice, Inkwell Isle, New Bosses, and More
The Delicious Last Course brings a good amount of content to the game. It features a new player playable character, Ms. Chalice, a previously undiscovered island, Inkwell Isle, and tons of new cool bosses to fight.
If you thought that the game became easier after beating the base game, think again. The Delicious Last Course cranks up the difficulty and will really make you earn those wins. The game doesn’t just throw punches at you because you also get new advantages that you didn’t have before.
Ms. Chalice has access to new abilities and modified move sets. You can also use the new characters in the base game and combine them with new weapons and charms from the DLC. So, go ahead and revisit your fights in the base game. Legendary Chalice's secret quest is also added to the game, and you will need to talk to Chef Saltbaker to start it.
About the DLC, Delay, and Reviews
Do keep in mind that The Delicious Last Course is not a standalone expansion. You need the base game to enjoy the DLC.
The DLC has been in development for four years, first revealed at E3 2018 with a 2019 release window. However, it was delayed multiple times by the developer and was just released recently. Many fans agree that the wait was worth it. The game has received universal acclaim from both fans and critics. Right now, the DLC has a 96% positive rating on Steam.
You can purchase the DLC on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC for only $7.99. PC players can purchase the title via both Steam and GOG.
