With the launch of Dark Souls 3 getting closer by the day, and Japanese gamers less than a week from getting their hands on the game, the game’s marketing team returned to YouTube this week with a pair of new Dark Souls 3 previews.
First up, PlayStation Underground published 22 minutes of new Dark Souls 3 gameplay, offering fans a glimpse of the first section of Lothric we’ll be exploring when DS3 heads to North American stores next month. The video also gives players a quick preview of the game’s character creator, which should look familiar to anyone who’s played Dark Souls and/or Dark Souls 2. There aren’t any enemies we haven’t seen before, but PU’s Dark Souls 3 preview should still scratch an itch for anyone desperate to see more of the game ahead of next month’s launch.
Fair warning: Those avoiding DS3 spoilers should bookmark the video, and watch it later, because whoever’s driving this week’s PlayStation Underground preview defeats the game’s first boss. So don’t watch the new footage if you’d rather figure out the winner strategy for yourself.
Elsewhere, Bandai Namco hosted another Dark Souls 3 stream this week, featuring a combination of footage from the original Dark Souls and the next entry in the vaunted franchise. Unfortunately, the publisher has yet to release an archive of Tuesday’s stream; however, DualShockers managed to capture around 20 minutes of footage from the Dark Souls 3 portion of the stream. Those who’d like to see the Assassin, Deprived, Pyromancer and/or Sorcerer classes should drop by the PlayStation-focused site.
Dark Souls 3 is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts on April 12.
