Fresh off Dave Chappelle’s post-election appearance on Saturday Night Live, Netflix announced Monday it would air three new specials from the comedian in the coming months.
Netflix did not provide a release date for the new specials. However, Netflix representatives did confirm the specials would be available to stream in Canada.
At this point, it's not clear if the new Chappelle specials will focus on new material, look back to classic sketches from Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show, or be some combination of the two. Entertainment Weekly reports the specials will consist of one original stand-up special and two older, never-before-seen shows from Chappelle's "personal vault, filmed in Los Angeles and Austin.
“Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix,” said Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s vice-president of original documentary and comedy, in a press release.
