The much-anticipated Dead Space, remake of the 2008 title, is less than two weeks away. The game is launching on next-gen consoles and PC, January 27, with the developer skipping the previous generation to take advantage of new hardware.
Many fans were worried about the performance of the game on the new consoles. Thankfully, a recent tweet by the devs has put these worries to rest.
The game will have two graphical modes on both PS5 and Xbox Series X. One is Performance Mode and the other is Quality Mode. In PM, the game will run at 1440p at 60 FPS with no ray tracing, whereas in QM, the game supports 4K resolution at 30 FPS with ray tracing.
These are the only two available modes but I think a third mode will be perfect for Dead Space. Many fans would love a mode that supports 1080p @ 60 FPS with ray tracing.
Interestingly, the developer didn’t announce what kind of performance you can expect from Xbox Series S. Given the weaker hardware on this console, a 30 FPS cap will make sense.
The official PC system requirements have been reconfirmed as well, and they are just as demanding.
