Details on Destiny’s first Year 3 holiday event are now online, just days before the event is expected to begin, and it looks like there will be plenty of new masks, shaders and weapon ornaments to incentivize the first major event since last month’s Destiny: Rise Of Iron debut.
As expected, Destiny’s next Halloween event will bring back the paper masks introduced during last year’s Festival of the Lost. More than half a dozen guises from the 2015 FotL will return this year, alongside a small collection of new masks that include Prince Uldren, Lord Saladin and Aksis. Candy and other small treats will also be distributed throughout the event. Those who’ve been sitting on at least one Tiny Box of Raisins since last year’s event are also being rewarded with an exclusive Grimoire card. To claim it, just pull the rechristened Ascendant Raisins out of your Vault and consume them to get a few extra points for your Grimoire Score. Additional details on this year’s Festival of the Lost, along with theories about what other changes we might see, can all be found in the Destiny sub-reddit.
In addition to the Festival of the Lost news, this week also brought the debut of the Heroic difficult Wrath of the Machine raid. But hardcore Destiny fans won’t be shocked to hear a few teams have already taken down the latest iteration of Destiny’s toughest challenge. What they might be surprised to learn is that the world’s first hard mode takedown of Aksis actually took place a bit faster than the world’s first standard finish. Clan Redeem made headlines for being the first to complete Wrath of the Machine, roughly two hours after it was made available to the community, but Die Busfahrer finished the new version of the raid in just over an hour. Redeem apparently came close to repeating it’s world first feat in Heroic but was ultimately bested in combat by Bungie’s anti-cheat services.
Destiny: Rise Of Iron is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
