The fourth chapter of the Digimon Adventure Tri anime will release in Japan on Feb. 25, and the official website -- translated via Anime News Network -- posted the plot summary of the fourth film of the six-film series.
Each chapter of the Digimon Adventure Tri anime has focused on one or two characters and Chapter 4, titled “Loss,” is no different.
SPOILER ALERT! The following will spoil the events of the first three chapters of the Digimon anime. If you haven’t watched them yet, turn back now.
“Following Meicoomon's rampage and the Reboot, Tai (Taichi) and the others leave behind a distressed Meiko and head to the Digital World. But the partner Digimon that they've reunited with have lost their memories. They once again try to forge new connections, but only Biyomon is wary, telling her partner Sora that she doesn't know anything about the past. While Sora normally thinks of others even before herself, she now has distrust in her heart. As Sora stands heartbroken, Tai and Matt (Yamato) cannot find the words to help her.
“A tearful Meicoomon appears and disappears again. For some reason, she has retained past memories, and is searching for Meiko. Upon seeing Meicoomon, the kids resolve to journey through the Digital World to save her, but a man with the Dark Masters at his command stands in their way.
“Meanwhile, in the real world, Nishijima receives a notice that Himekawa has disappeared. When he investigates, he learns that she has had a hidden goal behind all her actions thus far.”
Sora and Biyomon are the focus of the next chapter of the Digimon Adventure Tri anime and we will see the return of the Dark Masters from the original Digimon Adventure anime. That would explain the appearance of Machinedramon on the official poster for Chapter 4 of the anime.
While the Digimon anime is being released in Japanese theaters, the rest of the world is getting it via anime streaming services like Crunchyroll, which has released each chapter on the same day as it hits theaters for premium members.
Chapter 4 will release on Feb. 25 so fans should expect Crunchyroll to pick it up then as well.
