The DioField Chronicle is coming out later this year. This new strategy-RPG from Square Enix introduces players to an epic tale of war and honor. It’s going to be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
This new franchise is being developed by Square Enix in partnership with Lancarse Ltd. In addition to a team of veteran strategy developers, the game features unique character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, Lord of Vermilion IV) along with concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII). Meanwhile, the orchestrated music is made possible by composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, known for their work on the Game of Thrones.
The game is set in a world that mixes fantasy, medieval and modern-day. The story follows the
The Kingdom of Alletain on DioField Island, which has known peace for 200 years. This was possible because of the Shaytham dynasty. The kingdom is rich in the mineral Jade, prized because of its use as a base ingredient in magic and sorcery.
However, they suddenly find themselves facing uncertainty because of the rise not only of warlike powers but also modern magic. Indeed, the attention of the Empire and the Alliance are now focused on the kingdom. Players take on the role of a band of elite mercenaries that call themselves “Blue Fox.”
One of the things to be excited about is the time battle system known as “Real-Time Tactical Battle.” This system makes use of diorama-style combat scenes. Players can also assess front-line conditions in real-time, issue decisive orders, and use a variety of skills, classes, and equipment to gain the upper hand over their foes.
