DiRT 5 is a highly-anticipated rally game coming to modern and next-gen platforms. The game is said to introduce new maps and vehicles into a new story campaign mix. There's also going to be a brand-new track creation option called Playground Mode.
While fans were excited to get their hands on DiRT 5 on October 16, it has been now announced that DiRT 5 will be delayed until November 6. The announcement came from game's official Twitter account. According to developer Codemasters, the team needs additional time to polish up DiRT 5 before launch.
"Dirt 5 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC has now moved to November 6, 2020, with early access for Amplified Edition players on November 3," the official statement from Codemasters reads. The development team also assured fans that the game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X by the end of 2020. While the official statement itself does not tell fans as to why DiRT 5 was delayed, another statement from Koch Media has cleared up the confusion. Koch Media stated that the revised launch date will allow Codemasters to deliver the game across all platforms in a shorter timeframe.
It seems that the development team behind DiRT 5 is very careful regarding the franchise's debut on next-gen consoles. The developer will certainly want the game to look and play while living up to next-gen expectations. Even though the delay isn't a long one, anticipating fans are likely to be disappointed with the news. Also, it's worth noting that delays usually result in a more polished product, so it's always good to show some appreciation, encouragement, and love to your favorite developer.
Additionally, fans buying DiRT 5 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One will also be eligible for a free next-gen upgrade when the game launches on next-gen platforms.
DiRT 5 is releasing on November 6 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will also launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X by the end of 2020.
