At long last, Ubisoft has confirmed new plans for The Division closed beta, more than a month after the publisher was forced to delay its original December 2015 testing period. But anyone traveling to PAX South at the end of the month will likely miss the latest round of testing for Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Earlier this week, rumors suggested Ubisoft was planning to host a beta test for The Division before the end of January; giving the game’s developer (Massive) a little over a month to solve whatever issues might arise during testing for the oft-delayed shooter. The rumors were driven by claims, from a UK retailer, that the beta would arrive alongside the first big gaming convention of 2016. Naturally, many assumed the timing to be a sign that the rumors weren’t accurate. But it turns out there was quite a bit more truth than many of us realized.

According to a new tweet, published to official account for Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft will launch the game’s closed beta on Jan. 28. Xbox One players will be the first ones allowed in the game, with PC and PS4 players forced to wait until Jan. 29. The closed beta for The Division will run until Jan. 31, at which point players on all three platforms will be removed from the servers and forced to wait another six weeks to get their hands on the final build of Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on how much of the game will be available to explore in the upcoming beta. An alpha test for The Division was hosted last month, featuring some content from the game’s campaign; however, non-disclosure agreements made it difficult for those taking part in the test to share information with the game’s community. So we’ll just have to hope for a decent slice of the pie, come January 28.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is scheduled to debut on March 8.
