‘The Division’ Clothes Guide: Best Ways To Find New Jackets, Hats, Pants, Shoes, And Outfits

Tom Clancy’s The Division allows players to customize their clothing in game. The buildings are abandoned anyway, so what’s the real harm to decking out your character in a trendy new jacket? Check out The Division clothing guide below to find out where you can score new threads.

Clothing items during the The Division ’s initial character customization phase are chosen at random. You can get different options for jackets, tops, pants, and shoes by creating new characters. Unfortunately,you won’t get a hat when you create a new character. The clothing items you’ll get in the beginning of the game are:

Tops

  • Training Hoodie/Simple Training Hoodie

  • Long-Sleeve Tee/Simple Long-Sleeve Tee

  • Cardigan/Simple Cardigan

Pants

  • Military Pants/Simple Military Pants

  • Jeans/Simple Jeans

  • Chinos/Simple Chinos

Jackets

  • Parka/Simple Parka

  • Cargo Jacket/Simple Cargo Jacket

  • Jacket/Simple Jacket

Shoes

  • Walking shoes/Simple walking shoes

  • Sneakers/Simple sports sneakers

  • Suede sneakers/Simple suede sneakers

You’ll have to be vigilant to find clothings in The Division . Unfortunately, most of the individual clothing items you’ll find at random during the game. However, there are places you can look where you’ll have more luck finding clothes for your character.

1. Help civilians

You’ll randomly pick up water, food, and other goods as you roam around Midtown. You can’t consume these goods, but you can give them to civilians in need. The option to help a civilian will randomly pop up asking you if you want to give them something. Usually it’s food or water, but sometimes they’ll ask you for a medpack. In return, you’ll gain experience points and the civilian will drop an item. There’s a chance you’ll get a clothing item, so be sure to help people in need.

2. Dead enemies

Keep an eye out the grey markers indicating an enemy has dropped an item once a firefight is over. Enemies will drop Clothing items items likes jackets or hats. Don’t forget to sweep the area and loot dead bodies.

3. Loot crates

There are random loot boxes in Midtown. You can findom loot in bags, boxes, even car trunks. Clothing items will be marked in teal.

4. Apartments

Apartments are your best bet for clothes. The cupboards and closets are almost exclusively clothing items. Apartments usually have three floors you can explore for loot. Don’t ignore them! You can always go back and sweep the floors for loot. There are Med Wing missions where you explore contaminated apartments to get information about the virus. They are usually timed, so you might want to focus on the objectives first before searching for loot. However, you’ll miss out on awesome gear and items if you don’t go back into the apartments.

5. Season Pass

Ubisoft offers special clothes for The Division Season Pass holders. The outfits include a firefighter outfit, National Guard outfit, and a police officer outfit.

6. Unlock the clothing vendor

There’s a clothing vendor in the Security wing in Midtown’s home base. You’ll be able to purchase new pants, jackets, hats, shoes, and tops to customize your Division soldier.
