It’s another busy week for fans of Tom Clancy’s The Division , the shared-world shooter that debuted back in March, but not for the reasons you’d hope. Sounds like bugs have become a major problem for the community again and the folks responsible for developing The Division still aren’t sure how to fix some of them.
An old problem made its unfortunate return this week, in Tom Clancy’s The Division, leaving thousands of players unable to complete (or even see) their daily missions. Without access to the dailies, players are unable to increase their current supply of Phoenix Credits; the late-game currency used to purchase some of the best loot in The Division. Ubisoft has acknowledged the problem, and says developers are looking into a permanent solution for the recurring issue, but there’s no word on when the Division community can expect the fix to arrive.
Given Massive’s recent decision to compensate players for a variety of game-breaking bugs, from missing dailies to loot and crafting issues, it seems likely that Ubisoft will seek to make some sort of amends with those affected by the latest round of bugs. That said, we wouldn’t expect much more than a few extra Phoenix Credits from the Division dev team.
Speaking of problems, it sounds like Ubisoft is starting to realize that there isn’t much for end-game players to do besides run the game’s underwhelming Falcon Lost incursion or hang out in the Dark Zone. Since many of us aren’t interested in either activity, there’s not much reason for a portion of the game’s community to even think about playing The Division . Fortunately, Ubisoft community developer Hamish Bode says Massive has plans to “reinvigorate” the PvE portions of the game. There’s currently no word on how they plan to make the open-world content engaging again but, at this point, we’ll welcome just about any change Massive wants to make.
