The Division players have had their characters disappear after downloading the latest patch. Reddit is full of angry people usually, but now they have a reason to rage. A Massive developer on reddit asked players to comment with their username if they were having problems, and hundreds replied. Players have spent weeks working on acquiring the best loot and fine tuning their characters. To have all that work snatched away feels defeating and offers little reason to put more time back into the game.
Xbox players are the only ones being affected right now; PlayStation and PC players should have nothing to worry about. Massive has no idea what’s causing the problem, but they are looking into it. That means we don’t know when it’s going to be fixed, or if it’s even possible.
For those that have lost their characters, I send my deepest condolences to you. Nobody should have to lose something they put all their heart into, even if it’s in a video game. If I woke up tomorrow and my Hearthstone collection was missing, I don’t know what I’d do with myself. All I know is my pitchfork would be ready to go, just like all the Division fans on reddit.
