The internet is abuzz Tuesday with multiple rumors regarding Red Dead Redemption and a potential sequel. Sorry to burst some bubbles, but don’t believe any of these.
The first rumor is regarding a poster for a Red Dead Retribution. This poster comes from a fan, sending a gift box to Rockstar studios. The poster, and the rest of the gift box, can be found on this Imgur album posted by an unknown user.
Myth: busted.
The second rumor comes from Korean site gamefocus. This rumor claims there will be a remastered Red Dead Redemption released for PS4, PC and potentially Xbox One. The site also claims Red Dead Redemption will be getting localized in Korea, a country the original launch wasn’t localized for.
When can we hear more about this? According to gamefocus, an announcement will be getting made during the PlayStation Meeting event on Sept. 7.
This rumor seems to be grasping at straws. If Sony is going to show off any games at the event, it will be something that is graphically stunning, running on the new PlayStation Neo. No offense to Rockstar, but it would be foolish to flaunt the power of a new console by showing off a six-year-old game, even if it has been prettied up some.
Myth: I guess still plausible, but highly unlikely.
To know for sure, be sure to tune into the PlayStation Meeting on Sept. 7 starting at 3 p.m. EST. There will be streams on both the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels.
