There's no question that the roster of Shopify Rebellion is on a mission. They're out to prove to everyone that not only are they the best in North America but can go toe-to-toe with the best Dota 2 teams in the world. So far, they've done well on that front with a 6-0 record and a sure spot at the Lima Major.
However, they don't have the time to relax since TSM has not only secured a place at the Lima Major but also has a 6-0. Their last match is against each other and these two teams are fighting for 300 DPC points.
Men on a Mission
For those new to the Dota 2 esports scene, the members of Shopify were once part of Evil Geniuses. Under EG, the roster actually did well during the 2022 DPC season and earned a spot at The International 2022 through a direct invite. Then at TI, they finished at the top during the group stage and started the playoffs at the Upper Bracket. However, they lost their next two matches against teams from South America and were promptly eliminated.
While there was the possibility of changes in the roster, it came as a surprise when EG decided to let go of that roster. Fortunately, most of them decided to stick together and were signed by Shopify.
As Shopify, they have been showing a truly impressive performance. The team's 6-0 record actually translates to 12 games won and no loss. Indeed, they're on a mission and out to prove that EG should not have released them.
Going to the Top
The TSM organization may be new to Dota 2 but its roster has been in the region for quite some time. When TSM joined NA, it was actually the roster of Team Undying that they signed. During the last season, TSM ranked higher than EG but at TI11, they finished last place in the group stage and were eliminated.
Like Shopify, the team has been dominating opponents and showing that they're also one of the top teams in the region.
The Final Match
As mentioned, both Shopify and TSM have one match left and it's against each. The winner of that match gets first place in NA and 300 DPC points. If we were to base it on what happened last season, the Shopify roster has won against TSM in two of their three outings.
The question is can Shopify continue their journey to the top or is TSM going to snatch it away from them?
