Day four of the DreamLeague Season 11 playoffs has wrapped up, and Dota 2 teams Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro move to the next round.
EG was the leader for Group D, beating Natus Vincere 2-1 and later Vici Gaming 2-0. In the first round of the Upper Bracket, EG would go against Keen Gaming, with Keen Gaming taking the win. This lead to EG dropping to the Lower Bracket, adding the possibility of being eliminated.
Here the team met Ninjas in Pyjamas. In the first game, EG would take the lead most of the way in terms of net worth, experience, and even gold earned. While Neta "33" Shapira did well in the mid with his Lycan, Artour "Arteezy" Babaev's Sven had a good showing in the top lane and ended the game with nine kills and zero deaths. Gustav "s4" Magnusson also contributed on his Brewmaster, bringing in 10 kills.
One would expect that NiP would take the next game, but EG would not be denied its shot at the next round as EG beat out NiP with a lopsided kill count of 30-3 in EG's favor. NiP's Adrian "Fata" Trinks went for the mid with Huskar, but Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan's Kunkka was too strong and ended the game with zero deaths and six kills. Arteezy's Spectre also had zero deaths and ended with nine kills.
In the next match, Virtus.pro faced off against Chaos Esports Club, the team that had eliminated Team Liquid. Chaos showed VP just how good they are, and dominated the first game thanks to William "hFn" Medeiros' Ursa. The second game was one-sided again, but this time going the way of VP. Chaos was incapable of finding an answer for Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko's Morphling, which was helped by a strong contribution from Pavel "9pasha" Khvastunov's Doom.
With both teams now just a game away from elimination, the third game felt like a finals match. VP went with a Pangolier for No[o]ne and Brewmaster for 9pasha, with Spectre from Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev. Chaos, meanwhile, used Aliwi "w33" Omar on mid with Razor, hFn on Phantom Assassin, and Otavio "tavo" Gabriel with his Nightstalker. The game was a tense back and forth between the two teams before VP pushed ahead to take the win.
With their respective wins, EG and VP are set to face each other with the Dota Plus App showing the odds at 1:1.05. The two will play after the match between Team Secret and J.Storm, with Team Secret being marked as favored in the app.
