Once again Dota 2 released a new update in the middle of the competition, the Season 2 of the 2021 DPC. The timing may have been a surprise but most of the changes in Patch 7.29c are rather expected. Beastmaster got nerfed in this patch which made a lot of players fairly happy.
Before we go into the changes for heroes, let’s a look first at the item changes. The biggest is actually the impact on the Sange upgrade. This item has a regen amplification of +24% and when upgraded to Sange and Yasha, that increases to +30%. With this new patch, that increase for S&Y has been lowered to 25%. The same is true for Kaya and Sange. What this means is it’s better to hold on to Sange for while before upgrading it.
Nerfed as well is Solar Crest which has the attack speed bonus lowered to 55. Ring of Basilius, meanwhile, had its self-mana regen bonus reduced to +0.5.
Wild No More
When Patch 7.29 entered the scene, one of the changes Beastmaster experienced was on Wild Axes, which got buffed. Its mana cost was lowered to 65 while the Scepter damage was upped to +40. This resulted in a lot of players taking advantage of the improvements. That’s why by the time 7.29b rolled in, the bonus damage was lowered to +30.
Yet even with that nerf, players didn't seem bothered. Thus in 7.29c, the Scepter upgrade no longer gives bonus damage but is replaced with zero cooldown.
In an attempt to probably balance that out, he had some small buffs. The attack speed of Inner Beast is increased to 15/25/35/45. Some of his talents are improved as well:
- Level 15 Talent
- The health of Beastmaster's controlled units increased from +300 to +350.
- Level 20 Talent
- Boar damage increased from +30 to +35.
- Primal Roar cooldown lowered from -35 seconds to -30 seconds.
Good Monkey
The patch buffs Monkey King which should be good news to those who use this hero. The stun duration for his Boundless Strike is increased to 1/1.2/1.4/1.6 seconds. However, the cooldown has been rescaled to 23/22/21/20 seconds. The night vision of his Tree Dance has been increased to 600 from 400.
