With the qualifiers for The International 2022 scheduled this September, it was clear that Valve would release one more update, though not a major one. Dota 2 Patch 7.32b went live and pretty much introduced some much-needed changes since Patch 7.32 was released last week.
One of the heroes hit hardest with the nerf was Mars, but it wasn’t that surprising. At ESL One Malaysia, for example, figures showed that Mars had a high win rate when he was picked. One big change is that Arena of Blood now allows some flying abilities to take enemies over the wall; there’s now a chance to escape Arena of Blood. As if that’s not enough, the new patch also increased the mana cost.
But wait there’s more! The bonus hero attack damage bonus for God’s Rebuke is lowered from 20/25/30/35 to 5/10/15/20; 15 points per level. For Bulwark, Scepter Soldiers no longer attack while Mars is stunned or disarmed.
It’s also worth noting that the recipe for Soul Ring has increased from 245 to 400. This is going to hurt the early game of strength heroes like Mars.
Like Mars, Queen of Pain also had a high win rate, so she got nerfed. The mana cost for her Shadow Strike is now at 125/135/145/155, a 15-point increase per level. It may not look much, but it definitely brings her down a peg.
Bringing Her Down
A bit of bad news for Phantom Assassin players. Back in 7.32, she got really good buffs. Among others, her Phantom Strike had lifesteal. That may have been too good because she got nerfed in this new patch. Changes include:
- Strength lowered from 21 + 2.2 to 19 + 2.
- Agility Gain lowered from 3.4 to 3.2.
- Base Damage lowered by 1.
Welcome Back
Patch 7.32 was painful for Marci, who got nerfed. Since this made her unplayable, Valve obviously would do something. Patch 7.32b increased not only her base movement speed but also her strength gain. In addition, her abilities got buffed:
- Rebound
- Landing AoE increased from 250 to 275.
- Sidekick
- Duration increased from 6 to 7 seconds.
- Unleash
- Flurry Attack Cooldown reduced from 1.75 to 1.5 seconds.
