The new DPC has not been good so far for Dota 2 team Alliance. After all, at the end of Tour 1 of the new DPC season, they got relegated to Division II. That resulted in the team letting go of some of its members.
Not only did Alliance release three of its members, but also its coach. The good news is that the team is preparing for Tour 2 and looks ready to get back to Division I. They now have three new members and a new coach.
The Remaining Two
Before we learn who the team’s new members are, let’s take a quick look at the two that remained.
The first is Adam "Aramis" Moroz. He was initially part of Vikin.gg before joining Alliance. His performance last season showed that he had what it takes to be a top-tier support. It seems he wasn't released since he could help stabilize the team.
The second one is Nikolay "Nikobaby" Nikolov. This Bulgarian player has had a presence in different regions including Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and even Southeast Asia. As someone who joined Alliance in 2019, he is considered the "oldest" member of the new roster. He brings with him expertise and experience, plus the role of being the team's carry.
Meet the New Ones
The first is none other than Aliwi "w33" Omar. For those not familiar with his career, he is a two-time TI finalist. He was part of Digital Chaos who lost to Wings Gaming in TI6 and then as a member of Team Liquid who was defeated by OG in TI9. In a post, Alliance mentioned that he brings with him the mentality of someone who has competed in the highest tiers of the Dota 2 esports scene.
Up next is Moiez "symetricaL" Lin Mahmood who is set to continue his role as offlaner. His past achievements include being part of teams that won the ESL Premiership 2020 Spring and ESL Premiership 2020 Autumn. Finally, there is Nikolay "CTOMAHEH1" Kalchev, who initially played Position 4 in his previous teams. In Alliance, he is moving to Position 5 and will also serve as the team captain.
Looks Who's Back
The new coach is none other than Jonathan "Loda" Berg. He had initially retired from the competitive scene back in 2018. However, in that same year, he returned to Alliance to serve as their coach. He was then released in 2019 when the team underwent reorganization. It looks like his skills are once again needed in Alliance.
What do you think are the chances of Alliance for Tour 2?
