With the first season of the Dota 2 DPC done, it’s obvious that several teams are doing some roster shuffle. This is mainly to prepare for Season 2. Today, we take a look into two moves happening in Southeast Asia. We take a peek as well into what's happening in North and South America.
Down to 3
Despite being one of the top teams in SEA, TNC had some trouble in the first season. The team started the year with difficulties roster-wise. This resulted in TNC putting its then coach Kim “Febby” Yong-min as part of the roster.
Even with that, it didn’t help the team much. So it’s not surprising to learn that they’ve let go of Febby along with Damien “kpii” Chok. In a post on Twitter, TNC revealed that the two players not only managed to show great potential but also offered a wide range of strategies that made the team shine.
A Surprise Move
TNC’s roster shuffle is rather expected. However, what T1 did was fairly surprising. Despite already qualifying for the Singapore Major through the Wild Card, the team made a decision to change its roster. T1 decided to release Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong. But the reason behind it wasn't revealed and T1 only said that they were happy with what he contributed to the team.
A day later they signed Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon. Before being signed by T1, 23savage had announced that he was looking for a team and had just reached 12,000 MMR.
A Bit Sad
The end of the first season also had an impact on the North America region, particularly SADBOYS. The team was initially reformed to participate in the BTS Pro Season 4 and the new DPC Season.
Peter “ppd” Dager announced on Twitter that he has left the team. He added that while he’s not sure if he’s going to join Season 2, he does hope to do more casting. David “dnm” Cossio also left the team.
Movements in the South
Some small movements are happening in South America as well. Team Unknown, for example, parted ways with Junior Reyes “Yadomi” Rimari and signed Sergio “Prada” Toribio.
Infamous had Christian “pakazs” Savina move to position 2 and signed Leonardo “Mandy” Viana for position 1 as a stand-in.
We’ll probably see more roster changes over the next few months.
