After being benched, it didn’t take that long for two members of the Dota 2 team Natus Vincere to make the decision to leave. The two are Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosian and Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. Leaving the team as well is coach Andrii “Mag” Chipenko.
With this, NAVI is now down to two members, both of which are on inactive status:
Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko
Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey
A Time to Prepare
It was back in December of last year when RodjER and four other members of FlyToMoon were signed by NAVI on a trial basis. However, when 2021 came in, there were some changes made and one of these was RAMZES666 joining the team. RAMZES666 in particular was brought in with the hopes of having a stronger performance for Season 2 of the 2021 DPC.
NAVI had previously placed second during Season 1 and got a Group Stage placement for the Singapore Major. The team would later cancel its appearance to the Major citing the difficulty faced concerning health protocols.
For Season 2, NAVI only managed a sixth-place finish, which meant it had to go through the qualifiers if it wanted to join TI10. It wasn’t successful as well, forcing the team to be on the sidelines.
Thus it didn’t come as a surprise when the whole roster was benched.
Going back to the departure of the two members and the coach, NAVI COO Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov said that they are thankful for their performance and wish them good luck in their future. He went on to say that they have more than enough time to prepare for the next season and consider different options.
Who do you think is NAVI going to pick up?
A Surprise Move
On the other side of the world, Beastworld has made some rather interesting moves of their own. Just in case you’ve forgotten, the team had qualified to TI10.
The first was signing Mariano “Papita” Caneda as a coach. Papita had been with Infamous before leaving that team back in July. With this, John “RedMonster” Mamani moved from coaching the team to becoming their analyst.
Finally, Beastcoast released Junior Reyes "Yadomi" Rimari, who had been part of the team as a stand-in.
There’s no question that Beastcoast is preparing for its TI10 appearance and we hope to see some excellent games from the team.
