Team Secret announced its goodbye to Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg. He has been with the team for more than three years and is considered as one of its mainstays. This move comes just as Secret experienced its best finish so far in Dota 2 The International.
As part of Secret, his performance in the offlane had made him one of the best, and even most-feared, position 3 players in the world. Helping make this possible is Zai’s all-around skill and wide hero pool.
In a statement, team captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov shared that while this is a sad moment for Secret, it’s important to remember that all good things come to an end. He went on to say that he wishes Zai nothing but the best and knows that he’s sure to find success wherever he goes.
Talking about his departure, Zai revealed that he is saying goodbye to the team as he heads toward a new direction. He added that the past three years have been some of his best when it comes to playing Dota 2 . Zai went on to say that he had amazing games and he’s happy with what they have accomplished.
So what’s next for Zai? It appears that he has joined Team Liquid. The thing is, however, Liquid’s roster shows that they’re still together. So the big question is, which member of Liquid is leaving?
The Coaches
While there have been interesting shuffles in team rosters, it’s worth noting that there have been movements as well among coaches. Last week, Southeast Asia saw an interesting update with Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung leaving TNC’s coach and becoming one for BOOM Esports.
Another team in the region making a big move is OB Esports x Neon signing Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan as a coach. For those not familiar, he is the first player from SEA to win at The International. That was when he was part of Invictus Gaming.
Moving to South America, Mariano “Papita” Caneda made a surprise move as he ended his stint with Beastcoast as a coach and is now a player with Infinity. It looks like he is playing at position 3.
What do you think of the shuffle so far?
