After being released in Japan in August, Bandai Namco has finally announced the release date for Dragon Ball Fusions in the Americas.

Releasing Dec. 13, Dragon Ball Fusions will allow 3DS owners to play in a brand new fighting game based on the popular manga/anime series, but with a new twist. In Fusions, players will have the chance to fuse two fighters together that have never been fused before.

If you ever wanted to fuse Piccolo with Goku, Dragon Ball Fusions will let you.

“The Nintendo 3DS continues to be a popular platform for gamers on-the-go and we’re excited to finally bring a Dragon Ball RPG experience to its fans.” said Dennis Lee, Director of Brand Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. in a press release. “With DRAGON BALL Fusions we’re excited to see players take their Dragon Ball adventure with them wherever they go and share their experiences with friends through a robust multiplayer mode and fun fusion photo functions.”

Players will enjoy a brand new Dragon Ball story in Fusions as the game combines Action-RPG elements with a large roster of fighters from the original Dragon Ball to the new Dragon Ball Super.

Battling in Dragon Ball Fusions will be turn-based with a timeline determining who goes when.

The control scheme and commands are split into three parts. Fight is the close-range melee attack, Energy Ball uses Ki attacks and Special Attacks is your character’s most powerful attack.

Charge Ki and Check Power are also options in battle.

There is also a type triangle that classifies characters into three categories: Power, Technique and Speed. Power beats Technique, Technique beats Speed and Speed beats Power.

Dragon Ball Fusions will release Dec. 13.
