In a surprise move, Bandai Namco has announced that the upcoming Dragon Ball Fusions game for the Nintendo 3DS will move up from its original release date of Dec. 13 to Nov. 22.
Dragon Ball Fusions is a brand new Dragon Ball adventure where your character will explore the universe of Fusions where endless possibilities for Fusion can happen in a brand new story exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS.
Previous trailers and Japanese commercials for Dragon Ball Fusions confirmed the battle system and how it works in this game. The battle system is a turn-based system which relies on a timeline that determines the order of attacks. The character closest to the right of the timeline will attack first.
The control scheme and commands are split into three parts. They are separated by Fight, which is the close-range melee attacks, Energy Ball uses Ki attacks and Special Attacks, which is your character’s most powerful attack.
There is also a type triangle that classifies characters into three categories: Power, Technique and Speed. Power beats Technique, Technique beats Speed and Speed beats Power.
Ring Outs are also a means of victory in Dragon Ball Fusions . You can push back characters to the left of the timeline and keep them from attacking. By pushing your enemy back, you can pull your other party members closer to each other, which will activate Support Attacks.
Special Attacks are also classified by either the “Fight-type”, which deals more damage than the basic version of a move and blows them away. The “Energy Ball-type” aren’t as strong as the “Fight-type” but can hit multiple enemies. “Support-type” Specials have various effects like healing and buffing abilities.
