Before Nintendo releases its latest earnings report on Thursday, a new report claims the Nintendo Switch release dates of two popular titles, Dragon Quest XI and the latest installment of the Monster Hunter franchise, will happen in 2018.
In a series of tweets, Wall Street Journal tech reporter Takashi Mochizuki summarized a report by the Macquarie Group, an investment firm that has analyzed Nintendo in the past. The Macquarie Group report stated that not only does Nintendo expect Switch sales to increase into 2018 but that the upcoming Dragon Quest XI and the latest Monster Hunter game are expected next year.
Here’s Mochizuki’s tweet:
Of course, Dragon Quest XI is coming to Japan in July 2017 for both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS, but the Nintendo Switch release date hasn’t yet been revealed. According to the Macquarie report, Dragon Quest XI could come to the Nintendo Switch by March or April 2018. Whether this means in Japan or in the West is unclear but it’s very possible that this refers to a North American release.
As for Monster Hunter, the latest addition to the franchise, Monster Hunter XX , was released in Japan in March but the reports put the Switch version in February or March of next year.
With Nintendo’s earnings report coming this Thursday, more information on upcoming Switch content will be released then.
